International Farakka Committee (IFC) Inc, NY, USA is a non-profit and non-political organization, has formed an associated partner organization in Bangladesh, called IFC Bangladesh Chapter, having a 15-member committee, headed by Professor Dr. Jasim Uddin Ahmad, former Vice Chancelor, Jahangirnagar University. Since 1998, the members of IFC Bangladesh committee in Bangladesh Chapter has been working hand in hand, to fulfill the need of the country in this respect, of sharing the same ideology of righteous water sharing from trans-national water system and views of IFC. International Farakka Committee Bangladesh is relentlessly perusing the mission to voice against and aware the people about the impending great danger of Indian River Inter-link Mega project on Bangladesh and unite the people of all over the World to protest against the project, not to allow India to implement it. IFC Bangladesh worked hard to make the Programme of Long March 2005 and Grand Rally at Chilmari Bandar, Kurigram district, Rangpur, Bangladesh a success.
It had a vital role during organizing the Long March and Grand Rally, held on 3-4 March 2005 at Chilmari, Kurigram at greater Rangpur, Bangladesh. After the Long March and grand rally, the committee adopted a constitution and the International Farakka Committee Bangladesh (IFC B) was fromed. The committee is as follows:
